Dive in Vietnam

The turquoise waters of the South China Sea offer an exciting destination for dives. Recreational diving is relatively new with the first Vietnamese dive center, owned by English PADI Master Instructor Jeremy Stein, being accepted into PADI in 1999. Currently, diving is only possible in Nha Trang and Da Nang. The diving and snorkelling off the Nha Trang Coast accessible from the Ana Mandara Resort is some of the best available in Vietnam. The unique biodiversity of hard and soft corals is stunning, and the variety and vivid colours of the marine life will fascinate and thrill all divers from novices to experts. Many rare species are found in these waters including frogfish, paperfish, cowfish, devil scorpionfish, dragonettes, flying gurnards, as well as giant moray eels, stingrays, one or two sharks and a few turtles and manta rays. Occasionally, whale sharks are also spotted. There are no wrecks to dive as these have been salvaged by the locals. The diving season is from January through to October. Water temperature is between 22-30°C and visibility is around 15-30 meters.
